There are tons of cruelty free shampoo brands out there that do not test on animals. Most formulas do not have harsh chemicals or ingredients in their products either. Finding one that you like comes down to your hair type and trying out different shampoos and formulas. Some shampoos are meant for curly hair, thin hair, oily hair or dry hair. For me personally, I have very thin, fine, and straight blonde hair, so sometimes I like using color protective shampoo, or blonde shampoo that is safe for my hair after I get highlights or have it colored.

The animal cruelty-free shampoos listed in this review are ones that I have personally tried because they tend to work best with my hair type and my color treated hair.

Usually, I don’t use the same shampoo every time I wash my hair. I like to mix it up and mostly will alternate between different types of shampoo depending on how my hair is. Having very long hair that gets knotty easy, I like to use conditioner and leave-in conditioner to make my hair soft and smooth after a good shampoo.

I have also included a few dry shampoo options in my review because I can not live without my dry shampoo! Sometimes, it’s a good thing to not wash your hair and the best way to refresh your hair is with dry shampoo.

Most of the shampoos and dry shampoos I’ve listed you can find at Walmart, Target, Ulta, Sephora, your local drugstore or Amazon for your convenience. Some options online you can even do a subscribe and save option and get them delivered to you every month, or every 2 or 3 months.

Not Your Mother’s 2 Pack Plump for Joy Body Building Dry Shampoo

Typically, I use dry shampoo almost every day to revive my thin hair that has no volume to it. This product is an everyday use product for me and I seriously could not live without it. There are even little travel sized dry shampoos to use when you’re on the go.

If you check the prices on these shampoos and dry shampoos, there are some very affordable options. I hope this review has been helpful for you in picking some new cruelty free brands and products to try. If you have suggestions for your favorite shampoos that are 100% cruelty free, I’d love to hear your picks too.

By switching to cruelty free products, especially hair care, they are typically healthier. Because these products are not tested on animals, you’ll have peace of mind that the ingredients are free from parabens, sulfates and other bad chemicals. Overall, using cruelty free products is a good decision. If you’re questioning if something you currently use is cruelty free or has harsh chemicals, it’s always a good idea to look on the company’s website and to Google it.
