- Prep your natural nail. Buff and shape the natural nail and wipe with an alcohol prep pad or cotton round with rubbing alcohol to clean the natural nail.
- Apply glue to the nail dash and your natural nail if you want your nails to last longer. If you put nail glue on the nail dash only, they won't last as long. But you can reuse them and there are also extra nail dashes in case you need to apply a new nail.
- After you apply the nail glue, press the nail onto your natural nail at about a 45 degree angle. Be sure you don't put too much glue on your nail and the nail dash so it doesn't get on your skin. Nail glue is a pain to get off the skin, so do not over glue them. A little goes a long way too!
- When the nail is set and the glue is dry (takes a few seconds), I like to file the nail dash to refine the shape.

How to Remove Nail Dashes?
To remove the red aspen nails fill a bowl with warm/hot water and soap. I use dawn dish soap. Soak your nails in it for 10-15 minutes. When the nails come off, you want to use acetone to get the rest of the nail glue off of your natural nail and file and buff the top of your natural nail. It's simple and easy.
Sometimes the nails pop off on their own. If they do, you'll want to remove the rest of the nail glue and apply more to adhere the nail dash back on or remove the rest of the nail dashes.
Will My Nails Come Off If I Handwash Dishes?
If you go swimming in the pool, do dishes or take a bath, swim, or soak in the hot tub, your nail dashes shouldn't fall off. I've never had an issue with mine and I've done all kinds of things with them. However, if you do not apply correctly, or use enough glue, and if water gets underneath the nail dash, it can cause the nail to come off. I'd always keep extra nail glue handy.
Can You Reuse Red Aspen Nails?
You can definitely reuse red aspen nails. Depending on how you care for them, you can use them between 2-5 times. For optimal care, use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip to clean the nails when they fall off or are removed.
Red Aspen Nail Dashes vs. Static Nails Reusable Pop-On Manicures
Red Aspen nails are $13-$15 depending on the size, shape, and style that you buy. Static nails are similar in price and cost $14-$16 per set. The biggest difference I've seen between static nails and red aspen nail dashes is the color and styles that are used. Red Aspen has more bedazzled nails with nail jewels and they use more bright and vibrant colors. Static nails mainly offer neutral colors and pinks and don't have options with nail jewels on them. They both apply using nail glue and are a good alternative to a manicure or full set at a salon. They take less time, don't require drying, and are still cute and stylish.
